Eating our way through the fish and chips of Newfoundland. This one is a winner... Super fresh, huge portions, very tasty, and great value. Staff were friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Rocky Harbour!

Just finished dining at Jackie’s. I edited the hours of operation. Couldn’t take a picture of the hours because they were using one of those digital boards and it would flicker when I take a picture. Basically open we’d, thu, sat and Sunday. From 1130am-7.00pm. Closed Mon, Tue and Friday. I guess this is for the season. Basically no table service. You order and pay at the counter. Pick up at counter when it’s ready. There are 4 tables you can sit on. Basically self service. Fish and chips are probably the best on the west end on the island and top 4 in the province. Batter crisp and light.
I absolutely love this place... a real hidden gem. Great for fish and chips. It has lots of choices for families to choose from at reasonable prices. A local recommended it, so we bypassed all mid-town and went here. I'm afraid that more people will find this place and it will get busy and change. It has a small bay town charm perhaps like you came to visit your mom. Super friendly staff. Ocean views. Excellent fish and chips!
I used to live in Rocky Harbour, but moved away over 30 years ago. I've been dreaming of Jackies fried chicken ever since. I recently had the opportunity to try it after that amount of time and it hadnt changed a bit!!!! The best fried chicken Ive ever had in my life. If youre a fried chicken lover, do not skip this place!!!

The Missus and I along with the boys ate at Jackie's in 2016 when there was an option to eat in. On our latest visit, it was Take Out only with some picnic tables outside. We took our order back to our cabin. After finishing our trip of Newfoundland, we all agreed Jackie's had the best fish and chips. The fish was fried perfectly with a crispy batter and the chips delicious as well. It's a must have whenever we are in Rock Harbour. Highly recommend.
Excellent place for deep fried chicken. The fries are amazing too! We were able to eat our food outside on the picnic tables with an excellent view of Rocky Harbour. Our server was very nice and friendly. Highly recommended, we had a great experience.
